The late Mr G.F.W. Hoppit, Chairman of the Johor Bahru Tourist Association and the late Encik Halim Shukor, the Johor Tourist Promotion Officer on the 12th May 1971 at 4:30 pm with a handful of individual pioneering guides at the Johor Hotel located at Jalan Ibrahim Sultan, Johor Bahru envisioned an association that would be among the nation's tourist guides organisations to deliver some of Malaysia best tourist guides. That vision is a reality, and the principles that guided our association in the past remain firmly in place today.
JTGA's vision is embodied in five core principles that reflect who we are and what we do.
- First, we discover and develop our skills with a positive attitude.
- Second, we demonstrate the advances in our creative approach.
- Third, we pursue programs, policies, and partnerships that broaden access to our knowledge.
- Fourth, we conduct and manage our association business with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
- And finally, we develop strong, principled leaders who focus not only on results but on how those results can be achieved.
'Realising our Vision, Tomorrow begins Today', is an impressive journey of what we value of yesteryears, and what we do today for the future.
